An exhibition catalogue: huge, quiet type on white paper, with photos hung like framed prints and labelled.

A weekend magazine: a cream page, a tall serif masthead, numbered chapters and dark spreads between light ones.

Calm and welcoming, for places people visit in person: warm linen, a friendly serif and photos framed in arches like doorways.

Everything at a glance: the page is a grid of soft rounded tiles, with hours, phone and services side by side.

International style: a strict, visible grid, huge flush-left type, oversized section numbers and one red.

Plain and exact, like a well-set price list: black on white, monospaced details and services as a typeset index.

A fashion house's calm: ivory and black, hairline-thin display type set centred, and a great deal of space.

Earthy and natural: oat and deep green, a soft serif, and photos framed in leaf shapes that grow out of the grid.
